Dr Dhenesh V Subramanian

Dr. Dhenesh V Subramanian is a Lecturer in Computer Science at the School of Computing, Information and Mathematical Sciences of The University of the South Pacific. He holds a Doctoral degree from the University of South Australia, Adelaide. The research work was based on a study on understating the use of IT tools within organisations specifically to those used within a collaborative work space.

His research interests include:

  • Adoption and Assimilation of technology within organisations
  • Requirement analysis and design for collaborative tools that lack usability and adoption
  • Studying the social-cultural context of software tools to enhance their uptake within organisations

He is also doing research work that aims to understand the effects of technology on a learning environment. A current study is underway to ascertain how technology and social media like Facebook, Twitter and other collaborative tools can assist Computer science and Information science teachers to improve their content delivery and increase the user participation in the classes. The study aims to compare the use of technology by teachers in different geographical contexts namely in the Asia-pacific context.
